The purpose of establishment:
In response to the advent of Internet of Things(IoT), e-residency and other environmental changes, the Smart Development Center plays a role in integration and innovation of interdisciplinary. The implementation of technology policies, including digital government, e-economy, cyber community and smart city, creates new opportunity for Smart management while leading strategic decision of information development.
History of our center:
Tainan County and Tainan City Governments were merged and upgraded to become Tainan Municipality on Dec. 25th, 2010. After the organization of City Government was readjusted, the second-level IMC under the original “Tainan County Government Administration Office” and the second-level information department under the original “Tainan City Government Administration and Legislation Ministry” became the new second-level IMC under “RDEC of Tainan City Government” and there are the design planning division and system maintenance division established respectively under it.
On November 1st, 2017, in order to adopt smart information technique into part of the governmental strategic planning to promote niche strategy while enhancing horizontal coordination and resource sharing, the Information Management Center has reorganized as the Smart Development Center, established three main sections: digital innovation section, information management section, and smart application section.
